Do Ho Suh
Do Ho Suh was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1962. He originally trained in Oriental Painting at Seoul National University, and then moved to the United States and received a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a MFA in sculpture from Yale University. He constructs site-specific installations that explore the relationship between individuality, collectivity, and anonymity. He was selected to represent Korea in the Venice Biennale in 2001, and in 2013, he was named the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Innovator of the Year in Art. His work is included in numerous museums worldwide including MoMA New York, the Walker Art Center, The Guggenheim New York, the Tate London, Leeum in Seoul, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, among many others. He lives and works in New York, London, and Seoul.
