Cedric Im Brooks

Cedric Brooks was born in 1943 in Kingston, Jamaica. As a solo artist, he plays saxophone and flute. He found his first major commercial success as part of a duo with trumpeter David Madden , Im & David, while they release a series of instrumental singles on Studio One label. He was a part of bands such as The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, The Divine Light, The Light of Saba, before going solo in 1977 for Im Flash Forward. In the 1980s and 1990s, Brooks has released a few singles but largely worked as a session musician, working with Carlos Malcolm in San Diego, CA in 1998. In 1999, he joined the Skatalites, replacing the late Rolando Alphonso.
