He graduated with a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Art and Design in 2001. He has exhibited in the 2006 Whitney Biennial, New York, The Royal Academy in London, MoMA PS1 Contemporary Art Center in New York, The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo, The New Museum in New York, and Astrup Fearnley in Oslo. Colen currently lives and works in New York City.
