Juhan Liiv

Juhan Liiv was born in 1864 in Estonia. His first and most famous short story, Vari (The Shadow), was published in 1894. A book of 495 of his poems was published in 1909. In 1965, The Juhan Liiv Prize for Poetry was founded and is awarded by the parish of Alatskivi on April 30^th of every year.
