He attended the School of Fine Arts at the Universidad del Atlantico in Barranquilla from 1958 to 1960, followed by the University of Perugia in Italy from 1966 to 1967. His work spans paintings, sculptures, and conceptual art, with varying incorporations of surrealist elements. Barrios’ work has been exhibited at the Museo Nacional in Buenos Aires, Nohra Haime Gallery and The Museum of Modern Art in New York. He currently lives and works in Colombia.
