Janet Echelman
Janet Echelman was born in Tampa, FL, in 1966. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1987 and her MFA in Visual Art from Bard College in 1995. She was a Fulbright Scholar in 1997, studying in India. She has shown in galleries, museums, and public spaces worldwide, such as the San Francisco Airport, Venice Biennale, the Florence Lynch Gallery in New York, and ARCO in Madrid, Spain. She also spoke at the TED “Threads of Discovery” session in 2011. She is currently working on commissions for the Matthew Knight Arena for the University of Oregon and a major commission for Dilworth Plaza in front of Philadelphia City Hall. Echelman resides in Brookline, MA.
