Born in 1914 in Oakland, California, Jo Van Fleet is an American theatre and film actress. A notable Broadway actress, Van Fleet has won a Tony Award. Her film career earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in East of Eden in 1955. She was also seen in I’ll Cry Tomorrow, The King and Four Queens, Gunfight and the O.K. Corral and Cool Hand Luke. She passed away in 1996.
