Franz Schubert

Franz Schubert was born on January 31, 1797, in Vienna, Austria. He is known as an early Romantic composer, and has written 600 Lieder, seven complete and two unfinished symphonies, operas, chamber and solo piano pieces, and liturgical music. Schubert died young, at the age of 31, leaving many compositions unfinished. Piano Trio No. 2 in E-flat major was one of the final completed compositions by Schubert. The main theme of its second movement has famously been used in Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon.
