Herbie Hancock
Herbie Hancock is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, and composer. He was born on April 12, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. Hancock was a member of Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet, helping to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section. In 2011, he was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of Intercultural Dialogue. Some of Hancock's best known solo works include "Cantaloupe Island", "Watermelon Man", and "Chameleon". Hancock also composed the score to Michelangelo Antonioni's film Blowup.
