Hancock was a member of Miles Davis&#8217;s Second Great Quintet, helping to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section. In 2011, he was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of Intercultural Dialogue. Some of Hancock&#8217;s best known solo works include &#8220;Cantaloupe Island&#8221;, &#8220;Watermelon Man&#8221;, and &#8220;Chameleon&#8221;. Hancock also composed the score to Michelangelo Antonioni&#8217;s film Blowup.</p>
