In 2007 she attended the Skowhegan School of painting and Sculpture in Maine. She received her MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia in 2009 and attended the Whitney Independent Study Program in 2010. Simpson was in residence in Croatia in 2011 as part of Art in General’s Eastern European Exchange Program. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Simpson’s work shows the stove of Robert Rauschenberg, fetishizing the everyday objects of an individual. Also included are films made with her husband, curator Fionn Meade.
