The magazine revolutionized fashion photography in the nineties by commissioning fine artists to shoot fashion editorials. Artists that have contributed to Purple include, Terry Richarardson, Juergen Teller, Richard Prince, and Jack Pierson. The Purple Anthology was published in celebration of the magazine’s fifteenth anniversary.

Purple Anthology: Art Prose Fashion Music Architecture Sex was published by Rizzoli New York in May 2008. It was written by Purple’s founders Olivier Zahn and Elein Fleiss.
