Karolina Sobecka

Karolina Sobecka received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from CalArts in Experimental Animation/Integrated Media. She has also studied and taught at the University of Washington's Digital Arts and Experimental Media PhD program. Her work frequently employs animation, interactivity, computer games, design, and other media formats to engage public spaces and explore our interactions with the world. Her work has been shown at the Victoria & Albert Museum, MoMA, and Medialab Prado. She has received awards from NYFA, Creative Capital, Princess Grace Foundation, Rhizome, the Japan Media Arts Festival, along with many others. She is the founder and creative director of Flightphase, an art and design studio based in Brooklyn.
