He graduated from Seto Ceramics High School in 1972, and completed the Special Study Course of Ceramics at the same school. His work is best known for its abstract form and natural movement which normally cannot be achieved through casting.  His ingenious porcelain casting techniques are acclaimed internationally. His works have been acquired by the V&A in London, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Australia among other public and private collection.
