Hiraki Sawa

Hiraki Sawa was born in Ishikawa, Japan. He received his BFA with honors in Sculpture from University of East London in 2000 and MFA from Slade School of Fine Art, University College in London. Sawa is best known for his fanciful animations created with lo-tech video equipments. His work has been exhibited internationally. Recent solo exhibitions include "Hiraki Sawa: Figment" James Cohan Gallery (New York, 2013), "Airliner" Mori Art Museum, MAM SCREEN, Roppongi Hills, (Tokyo, 2013) and "Hiraki Sawa: Videos" Museum Goch (Goch, Germany, 2012) Sawa currently lives and works in London.
