Shiga manipulates the printed photographs while they are still developing in the dark room, generating an effect that blurs the boundary between memory and imagination. Shiga is the winner of the 33rd Kimura Ihei Award in 2008, the Young photographer ICP Infinity Award in 2009 and the 28th Higashikawa Award, the New Photographer Award in 2012. She currently lives and works in Sendai, Japan.
