She creates her sculptural works with new materials, particularly textiles to echo natural and organic forms. Her exhibitions include MINIARTEXTIL COMO (Como, Italy, 2001), Art and Craft Exhibition “2002 New Wave” (Kyoto, 2002) and Prism (U.K, 2003) among others. Umeda is the 1st Prize Winner at the 5th Internaitonal Betonac Prize.
