Ren Hang

Born in 1987 in Northeastern China, Ren Hang is both a poet and photographer. His work is deliberately provocative and explicit, challenging his country's highly conservative and conventional codes in art and communication. While Hang's work has been banned from many galleries in China, he has been exhibited widely in Russia, Italy, France, Sweden, United Kindom, and Austria. His photography has been published in both Chinese and international books and magazines. Hang currently lives in Beijing.
