Sam Taylor Johnson
Sam Taylor-Johnson was born in London in 1967 and currently splits her time between London and Los Angeles. Originally a sculptor, Taylor-Johnson began working in photography, film, and video in the early 1990s. Her directorial feature film debut came in 2009 with the critically acclaimed Nowhere Boy, a film based on the childhood experiences of The Beatles songwriter and singer John Lennon. In 2011 Taylor-Johnson was made and Order of the British Empire for her contributions and services to the arts.
