An interest in the work of Edvard Munch and Egon Schiele inform Emin’s work which explores complex personal states and ideas of self-representation through manifestly expressionist styles and themes. She has exhibited extensively in both group and solo exhibitions in Holland, Germany, Japan, Austrialia and America and had a major solo exhibition in May 2011 in London where she continues to work and live.
