Marcelo Gomes
Born in Brazil, Marcelo Gomes attended the University of Iowa on a full athletic scholarship for basketball and graduated with a B. A. in Political Science. He has had two books published by Hassla: ‘Love and Before, Green and After' in 2008 and 'Taciturn Heart' in 2010. In May of 2010, Marcelo was part of a group show at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) in New York titled 'Younger than I'll Be'. His first solo show, titled 'Exploding, Still' opened in June, 2010 at Family in Los Angeles. His work and collaborations have appeared in publications such as T Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed and Confused, The Journal, and The Last Magazine. He has worked commercially for Urban Outfitters, Vans, Mr. Porter, Urban Research, Anomaly New York and Surface to Air. Marcelo now lives and works in New York and Brazil.
