He is widely known for his innovative fine art installations in which he uses a wide array of media to create a world where time, space, and memory are fluid concepts. His work has been featured in many institutions around the world including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Vienna Secession, the Serpentine Gallery in London and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Most notably, Aitken created “MIRROR” an urban artwork, at the Seattle Art Museum, which transformed the museum’s exterior into a living kaleidoscope.
